QUICK RESPONSE (QR) CODE

What are QR codes?

A quick response or QR code is a type of barcode that is scanned by a smartphone, tablet, or computer through the camera within the device to reveal programmed information or data.  Examples of this data include a website, graphic, or file.  For more detailed information on the parts of a QR code or how numeric characters, alphanumeric charters, bytes, and kanji are converted into a barcode and then transmitted back into its fundamental form, conduct an internet inquiry.

Steps in Creating QR Codes

QR codes can be developed using online QR code generators.  There are several generators that can be used to create a variety of QR Codes, including those that allow for unique barcode shapes and coloring.

Typically, a minimal number of steps are required to generate a QR code.  The follow procedure may be utilized with most generators and can result in distinctively customized barcodes:

  1.  Decide on the type of QR code to be created (e.g., URL to point to a website).

  2.  Choose an online QR code generation (e.g., QR Code Generator)

  3.  Select the type of QR code (e.g., URL).

  4.  Enter the requested information for QR code generation.

  5.  Add optional design features, such as frame, shape, color, and logo.

  6.  Download the QR code.
