Areas of focus were determined through the instructional technology field, research topics, and active learning methodologies. Digital media, emerging technologies, and learner acquisition strategies are incorporated into the instructional design process to facilitate learners in constructing digital products that result in innovative solutions for existing complex problems by instituting data from research into instructional approaches.

Digital Media

Media is varied medium (e.g., audio, video) that transmits a message from the sender to the receiver –communicating principal content, such as that used in digital presentations, websites, blogs, podcasts, social media, and electronic books (i.e., media in tech).

Emerging Technologies

Emerging technologies refer to technologies in the context of existing products or tools that are continuously evolving for the betterment of society. Examples of emerging technologies include artificial intelligence (AI), virtual reality (VR), game-based learning software, voice-activated technology, along with those listed in digital media.

Learner Acquisition

Learner acquisition is a process in which learner-centered strategies aid in gaining knowledge and skills through discovery. Both may be measured through the use of various assessment instruments, including quizzes and tests, essays, case studies, special projects, and performance rubrics.
